Pet Portrait Commissions
While photos of our pets are always wonderful, there is nothing quite like the handmade feel of a painted or drawn portrait to truly capture the life and vibrancy of our furry friends. Doing these fills me with a lot of joy — I love hearing about everyone’s babies and their antics, and then hopefully bring their personality and individuality to the final piece.
I put a lot of time and love into each piece to ensure I’m doing your baby justice. I am able to work with a single photo, a section of a photo, or even combining multiple photos! I’m also able to replace and substitute backgrounds, so you can choose something that really suits the spirit of your pet. However, due to extra effort required I may need to charge more for extensive deviations from references provided. At the bottom of the page, you can see an extensive gallery of examples of commissions I’ve done!
Prices

Pencil Sketch
Drawn on artist drawing paper with graphite pencils, and finished with a spray fixative to prevent smudging. Prices start from a 5x7 (this is the size of the paper itself).

Ink and Wash
These are drawn in ink first, and then are gone over with some washes of watercolor to add color to the piece. I use high quality watercolor paper, with artist grade watercolors and India inks. Keep in mind, the size denotes the painted area, NOT the size of the paper itself.

Watercolor
Sketched in water soluble pencil, then painted entirely in watercolor start to finish, with some added details in pencil and white ink at the end. I use high-grade artist watercolor paper and artist grade paints — these pieces will last a lifetime and more. Keep in mind, sizes denote size of the painted area, not the paper!
